Fewer than 3% of 11 year olds get enough exercise, according to research published today. Recommendations are for youngsters to take an hour a day of moderate to vigorous exercise but experts found that few do so. They said it was 'sobering' to think that activity peaks around the age of 11 and children take even less exercise as they go through adolescence. A heath survey for England, published last year, said 10% of boys and 22% of girls aged two to 15 will be obese by 2010.
